Hi. It's nice to meet you.
More than 15 years ago, Meghan Wright was a very money-challenged, jobless youngster. To save money (and her creative sanity), she taught herself how to make soaps and other body products. She has worked hard to share her passion for the craft, and in fact, spent nearly 10 years giving away goods she produced. But as she grew wiser (not to mention older), she realized that maybe could begin a very-small business, catering to local supporters. In 2013, Meghan left her full-time career in education to begin her true pursuit of happiness - owning a small business. It took a few years to get her ducks in a row, but in April 2016, Figs and Feathers Farm became an official business as a sole-proprietorship. Since then, Meghan's work has been featured in Sactown Magazine, The Sacramento Bee, on Good Day Sacramento, and has been picked up by the West Elm LOCAL program within the state of California.
A little more about our brand:
Figs and Feathers crafts small batch, farm-fresh skincare and provisions. We aim to bring comfort and joy back to the rituals of bathing, specializing in soaps, balms, and salves containing only the highest-quality ingredients. We are proud to include locally sourced herbs, plants, and oils from our beautiful state of California in each of our products. Living in one of the most abundant, agriculturally rich areas of the United States we are fortunate to have access to bountiful harvests year-round, and much of our inspiration comes from our close community of growers. Please see below for a list of California growers and suppliers we work with regularly.
